Newborn Care Education Class FAQ
Q: Is this different than postpartum doula support?
A: Very! Postpartum doulas are a helping hand throughout the entire 4th trimester. Those packages range anywhere from 50-500 hours. Newborn care education classes are focused on the immediate postpartum period when you're learning the ropes of new parenthood. Our hands-on guidance covers anything and everything you're curious about or need additional instruction on, including bathing, swaddling, breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, pumping, parenting styles, newborn cues, multiples care, newborn safety, sleep safety, and so much more.
Q: Do I have to be located in Ohio to take a class?
A: Not necessarily. In-person is the best method, as our focus is on hands-on care and techniques. But we can also teach these classes virtually to those outside of our service area and nationwide.
Q: When is the ideal time to take a newborn care education class?
A: We welcome clients with infants and babies. The hands-on nature of the class doesn't work well during pregnancy. This class is most helpful in the first few weeks of your baby's life, but can be beneficial up through a few months postpartum.
Q: Do I have to book a minimum amount of time?
A: We require a 4-hour minimum so that we have time to cover a variety of topics. We may be able to accommodate less time in some circumstances, such as parents with older children who only need a refresher.
Q: When are your newborn care education classes held?
A: It depends! With our newborn care education classes, we come to you so that you never have to leave the house. Further, unlike hospital classes, we are flexible in our scheduling so that we can work around your busy schedule.
