Placenta Encapsulation FAQ
Q: Why should I eat my placenta?!
A: While there is limited academic research on the benefits, our clients have reported a variety of self-reported benefits, such as improved mood, increased energy, an increase in milk supply, and more.
Q: Will the hospital give me a hard time?
A: We haven't had issues with hospitals releasing placentas to clients. Generally, they will have you sign a release form so that you can take it home yourself. Make sure to chat with your medical provider about it in advance.
Q: Where is my placenta encapsulated?
A: We encapsulate your placenta in your home over two consecutive days. This eliminates the risk of cross-contamination and gives you access to the encapsulator who is available for questions throughout the process.
Q: How many placenta pills will I get?
A: Anywhere from 75 - 150, depending on the size of the placenta.
Q: How long will it take?
A: Two consecutive days; the encapsulator will be at your house for about 1.5-2 hours each day.
Q: When do I take my placenta pills?
A: We will provide general guidelines for consumption, and we encourage you to listen to your body’s cues. Every woman is different, but our suggested guidelines include:
- 2 capsules 3x a day for the first 3 days
- 1 capsule 3x a day for the next 7-10 days
- 1 - 2 capsules a day until they're gone
We do not recommend you save the placenta pills for long-term use; the reported benefits occur in those first few months postpartum.
Q: Where do I store my placenta pills?
A: Always keep them refrigerated. And as with any capsule, avoid moisture/getting them wet.
"I had the pleasure of working with Ashley for the placenta encapsulation. She made the entire process super easy and seamless. Everything was finished before I arrived home from the hospital with the pills in the fridge and easy instructions to follow. You would have never known anyone was in the kitchen - it was left spotless! I would highly recommend this service and Ashley to anyone who is interested!"
"Ashley started encapsulating my placenta the same evening I delivered my son. The following day I was able to start taking them and almost 2 weeks later, I still have many left! I struggled with prenatal depression in the first trimester and really wanted to do whatever I could to keep my hormones balanced postpartum. I swear I haven’t had so much as a mood swing since giving birth and recovering at home! I feel an overall sense of calm and joy and I’m thrilled and grateful for the capsules. I would recommend CLEbaby’s services to every mama, thanks Ashley!"
"I used these wonderful ladies for my placenta encapsulation and I couldn’t be happier. Not only are they prompt and professional they checked in on me and exceeded my expectations. By the way I totally recommend placenta encapsulation for anyone, it has made me feel more energetic and very balanced with my emotions right after giving birth. I can’t say enough good things about this company!"
